Operation Round Up: Giving back and looking ahead

Operation Round Up check

Noble REMC’s goal in giving back to the community is to impact organizations across our service territory for a multitude of worthy causes.

Our Operation Round Up program is a large contributor to this mission through distributing grants each quarter to local nonprofits working hard to improve our quality of life.

With more than 91% of our members participating in the program, the pennies donated by rounding up your bill each month are making a big impact, assisting local food pantries, community centers and health education programs.

The fourth quarter distribution of the Operation Round Up Trust Fund awarded $11,083 to nine different organizations in our community, including:

Helping Hands of Orange Township, $1,500, food

Central Noble Food Pantry, $1,500, food

Noble County Extension Homemakers, $800, Head Start books

Thrive by 5, $2,500, childcare center

The Community Learning Center, Inc., $500, Christmas event

McMillen Health, $1,000, preventative health education

Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc., $1,500, Noble County Farm Wagon

Kendallville Heritage Association, $320, education sound system

Augusta Hills Learning, Recreation & Community Center, $1,463, sports equipment

Thank you again to those members who choose to participate in the program and contribute to improving the quality of life in our area. None of this would be possible without your generosity.

For local nonprofit organizations who are seeking funding for a project, please fill out and return an application to the Noble REMC office by Jan. 2 to be considered for the next round of Operation Round Up disbursements. Applications can be downloaded from nobleremc.com.
