EnviroWatts

Serving a rural area means serving more than just its people. Noble REMC aims to serve and protect the land, which supports us all.EnviroWatts Logo

One way we do this is through our annual EnviroWatts grant program, which benefits nonprofit service organizations, working to improve the environment locally in Noble, DeKalb or the surrounding counties.

Whether cleaning up a local river or lake, planting more native species or promoting recycling in the community, this funding could help boost environmental endeavors and benefit the community at large.

Our members are the ones who make this all possible. The program, a partnership with our power supplier, Wabash Valley Power Alliance, is completely voluntary and gives residential members the opportunity to purchase green energy while also giving back to their community.

Members who choose to participate donate 1 cent for each kilowatt-hour they use, up to 500 kWh. Those pennies – a maximum of $5 a month per member – make up the EnviroWatts fund, which then goes back to the community through grants to local environmental projects, and those kWh are guaranteed to be generated from renewable, environmentally-preferred sources.

Member participation

If you're a member and would like to sign up to purchase your first 500 kWh from an environmentally-preferred source, please contact us at 800-933-7362 or email us with your name and intention to sign up for EnviroWatts. You can also print out the form and mail it in with your bill or separately.
