Movin' on up: Linemen graduate, earn new titles

Journeyman lineman graduation

It looks like it’s time to update the Noble REMC employee directory with some new titles.

Congratulations to three of our linemen who recently completed courses to advance their knowledge in the industry!

Journeyman Lineman Rob Coil graduated from Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ three-year Advanced Lineman Training Program, which is designed for line crew leaders from across the state to come together and hone their skills in line work, safety and leadership. Participants received in-depth training on overhead lines, underground lines, grounding procedures, job planning and much more, while continuing to develop leadership skills.

In addition, apprentices Luke Gillis and Trevor Harlan celebrated their graduation from the Rural Electric Apprenticeship Program (REAP) with a ceremony in Indianapolis in January. REAP is a four-year program that requires apprentices to attend 612 hours of classroom instruction combined with at least 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. Completing this course earned them an associates degree from Ivy Tech Community College and a journeyman’s certificate.

Noble REMC is proud of these employees’ hard work and determination in completing these intensive courses to continue to improve their knowledge and skills in order to provide excellent service to our members and community. Great job, guys!
