Your Cooperative

Noble REMC is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative founded in 1936 in Albion, Indiana.  Its headquarters is located at 300 Weber Rd, Albion.  The cooperative delivers electric energy to more than 10,000 member-owners in Noble, DeKalb and six other counties in northeast Indiana.

Noble REMC has 33 employees.  Ron Raypole is the President and CEO of corporation.  The Operations Department includes linemen and right-of-way crew that maintain more than 1,200 miles of energized line.

Noble REMC’s mission reads-- Where safety is the standard and customers are the priority!

Members’ phone calls are answered personally by a Customer Service Representative who can help answer and solve problems as they come up.  Contact our Energy Advisor for answers about energy usage, efficient building practices and ‘free’ residential energy audits for our members.

Board of Directors
As a not-for-profit electric distribution cooperative, Noble REMC is governed by a 9-person elected board of directors.  These individuals are members from districts throughout our service territory. (district territories)  They are elected on a rotating basis at our annual meeting held on the first Saturday in June. Click here for a list of current directors by territory.

Community Leader
Noble REMC and employees help support many organizations both financially and through service on various committees and boards.  Some of those organizations include local and regional Economic Development Corporations, Chambers of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, schools and churches.
Operation Round Up® Trust Fund Program was initiated in 2002.  Members who receive power from us give us the ability to round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar.  The donation averages only $6 per year for participating members.  Over the years, thousands of individuals in our communities have benefited as Operation Round Up Funds have been granted to non-profit community organizations that provide service to others.  See the Operation Round Up web page for details.

Patronage Capital
Patronage capital refunds are one of the benefits of being a cooperative member. When Noble REMC is in a financial position to do so—as it has for many years, the member receives a refund check (typically in early December) representing the prorated amount between the actual cost of service and the margin for a given year. It is like having one share of the company. That sets us apart from investor-owned and municipal electric companies which are operated by towns or cities. Click here for the list of current or former members' names who have a patronage check due to them.

Annual Meeting

Noble REMC hosts an annual membership meeting on the first Saturday in June.  All current members (customers), and their immediate family, are invited to attend the family style picnic and member appreciation at the REMC’s headquarters on Weber Road in Albion.

Members enjoy lunch featuring the popular Noble County Pork Producers grilled pork burgers served with chips, ice cream and drinks.  They also enjoy entertainment and activities designed for the entire family.  REMC employees and community organizations are available to share information about their programs and projects.  Attendees learn about issues their cooperative is facing and get information about energy savings, electrical safety and more.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon when a brief business meeting is held.   Festivities wrap up at about 1:00 p.m. when the results of director elections are announced.

Upon arrival at the annual meeting, members register and vote for individuals to represent them on the REMC’s Board of Directors.  Directors set policy, provide governance, and guide the direction at the cooperative.

The Noble REMC Annual Meeting is on the first Saturday in June at the REMC headquarters on Weber Road in Albion.
