Operation Round Up

Noble REMC Operation Round Up Grant Deadline June 30, 2017
Operation Round Up®Operation Round Up participants—who deserve all the credit for the program's success—allow Noble REMC to round up their bill to the next whole dollar. The change goes into a trust fund for grants approved by a volunteer grant review board. The funds are transferred to the Operation Round Up Trust Fund at the Noble County Community Foundation, who distributes the funds and performs the accounting functions for the trust. Administrative costs for this program are minimal. The contributions are tax deductible. To date, Noble REMC Operation Round Up has given back more than $677,000 into local communities benefiting several organizations in our service territory.

Non-profit community based organizations and school corporations serving the general area of our service territory—primarily Noble and DeKalb counties are eligible to apply for grants for a project or service. Bylaws prohibit funding a grant above $10,000.

All grant applications must have written documentation of your 501[c][3] and your federal ID number (EIN) must be included.

Applications for the next grant cycle will be accepted until June 30, 2017 and are available at the Noble REMC office at 300 Weber Road in Albion or right here on our web site (see below).

Because of demand, all grant requestors are encouraged to only apply once per year. Those applying more than once will be considered after the others are reviewed.

The Operation Round Up Board is strictly voluntary and is currently comprised of five REMC members and two employees. Members have term limits and if you are interested in volunteering in the future, contact Board President Kevin Dreibelbis at 260-636-2113 or 800-933-7362.

Operation Round Up was started by a rural electric cooperative in South Carolina over 25 years ago. Leading rural electric co-ops have joined together in these programs generating millions of dollars for philanthropic causes at the local level. The success of the program is due to the generosity of the REMC members who allow us to round up their bill.  If you choose not to participate, click here for an opt-out form.
